Karbonn launches Qualcomm Snapdragon powered 3G tablet

Karbonn on Tuesday launched Karbonn Agnee, the indigenous 3G tablet powered by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s (QTI) Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with Innominds at Innovation Qualcomm India 2012. Innominds is a leading innovative solutions provider in the product engineering space.

Kabonn said that it is aiming  is to usher in a new revolution in the tablet market with 3G technology for advanced communication and data usage thus creating a new wavelength wherein Karbonn Mobiles can demonstrate its technical stewardship.

Leveraging a QTI Reference Design (QRD) based on QTI’s Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSMx27A processor, this 3G tablet has been designed and developed in India by Innominds to provide a comprehensive and collaborative platform for students and faculties.

“Karbonn Mobiles is envisioned to introduce innovative technology across the globe. We are pleased to announce Karbonn Agnee, the first made in India 3G tablet based on QRD, which will surely take a step forward in making engaged mobility solutions a reality for the Indian consumers,” said Pradeep Jain, Managing Director, Karbonn Mobiles.

Innominds has successfully designed and developed this indigenous 3G tablet for Karbonn, based on a QRD which utilizes QTI’s Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7x27A processor. Having designed this tablet targeted at the education sector with preloaded applications for education-based content and services that provides a collaborative learning experience for students, Innominds aims to come up with future designs adapted for retail and other industry verticals, leveraging QRD.

QRD provide manufacturers with reference handset designs based on QTI’s Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, along with ecosystem programs that provide tested and verified hardware and software components for rapid delivery of commercial high-volume smartphone devices with unique differentiated user experiences.

The Karbonn AGNEE, powered by QTI’s 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, has a 7 inch screen, HDMI, 3G HSPA, Android ICS OS, and a 4000 mAh Li-Polymer battery.

Microsoft Surface RT Tablet to cost Rs 26,390

Microsoft has finally revealed the price of the much awaited Surface RT tablet - 32 GB without Touch Cover to cost $499 (Rs 26,390 approx.) onwards.
Microsoft has formally revealed the prices of the Surface with Windows RT tablet by opening up the pre-orders at its online store. Microsoft's new Surface with Windows RT tablet has a 10.6-inch ClearType HD display and packs Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor inside.
New 32GB version Microsoft Surface with Windows RT tablet will be available without Touch cover for $499 (and the touch cover will cost $100 (Rs 5,280 approx.) extra. The 64 GB version of Surface with Windows RT tablet along with the Touch Cover will cost $699 (Rs 36,960 approx.) and all versions will start shipping from October 26 onwards post launch of Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Phone 8 formally.

Microsoft has conceptualised, designed and engineered the new Surface tablets that will be offered in two flavours - Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro. The company has formally revealed the price Surface with Windows RT tablet price by putting it up for pre-order at its Online Store. This Surface tablet has been constructed using the new VaporMg process casing which makes it thin and elegant at the same time

iBall Slide i9702 tablet launched for Rs 14,999
The tablet features a dual core 1.5 GHz processor coupled with quad core G400 Mali graphics processor and 1 GB DDR3 RAM.
iBall, an Indian IT, mobile and tablet brand has launched a new Android 4.0 tablet called the iBall Slide i9702. This new tablet comes with a 9.7 inch IPS screen. It is the first tablet in the budget range to have an IPS panel display. IPS panel screens offer wider viewing angles as compared to normal screens.
The tablet features a dual core 1.5 GHz processor coupled with a quad core G400 Mali graphic processor and 1 GB DDR3 RAM. The specifications on paper indeed look powerful.

The new iBall Slide i9702 has a 2 megapixel camera both at front and at the back. It also gets a big 8000 mAh battery with claimed backup time of over 7 hours. It has an 8 GB built-in memory expandable up to 32 GB with a micro SD slot.For connectivity, besides WiFi, USB on the go and a host port it has 3G through USB, and an HDMI port for connectivity to projectors or TVs.
The tablet has been priced at Rs 14,999 and if performance matches the spec sheet then this is not very expensive and is well worth the money in terms of features. Otherwise, Micromax Funbook Pro with a 10 inch screen is priced at Rs 9,990 only.


HTC Desire X officially launched in India for Rs 19,799

HTC today officially launched the Desire X in India for Rs 19,799. We had earlier reported about its availability in India last week. The Desire X is a mid-range Android smartphone and runs on a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play processor, which is based on the ARM Cortex A5 architecture.
The Desire X has a 4-inch S-LCD display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels, a 5-megapixel-rear camera and 768MB of RAM. The phone also has the Beats Audio branding and comes with 25 GB of DropBox cloud storage for 2 years. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with the HTC Sense 4.0 overlay.
The HTC Desire X will go head on with the likes of the Sony Xperia Sola, and the Sony Neo V. Specs wise it compares pretty favorably so it will be an interesting battle.

In a recent newsbreak, Best Buy has taken up their Facebook page and have declared that the online retailer is soon going to launch a new tablet, namely, Insignia Flex Android tablet. Reportedly, it is going to be a mid-range tablet, when having a look at the design of the tablet (pictured above), it seems that the budget tablet surely holds the glory to spice up the competition among the Android and Apple tablets in days to come.
According to numerous reports, Best Buy has been teasing a mystery product for the past weeks, and now with the official announcement of Flex Tablet, it seems this was the only device which the company seems quite excited about. Going by the speculations, the new tablet would come running on Android 4.0 ICS powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor, a 9.7 inch display and a battery offering 10 hours of functioning time.
Best Buy’s Twitter and Facebook product announcements say that Flex tablet will hit the shelves a “month from today”, which falls around November 11. Speculations also say that the price will be somewhere between $150 and $250.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Alpha Price In India: The world may have it’s eyes on the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, but check out what Japan just got. Samsung and NTT DoCoMo have launched a new Samsung Galaxy S3 model, the “Samsung Galaxy S3 Alpha”. This version of the Galaxy S3 will not only arrive in a different shade, but will also carry similar hardware as the Galaxy Note 2. It has a similar Exynos 4412 1.6GHz quad-core processor, and 2GB RAM. You also get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box and LTE compatibility. No info on pricing or whether it will show up outside of Japan. When we learn more we will let you know.

LG Optimus G to be launched in India in Nov

LG Optimus G will arrive with a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro mobile processor and will feature a 13 megapixel camera at the back.LG will launch an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich based Optimus G smartphone with a new user experience and powerful hardware in November in India.
An LG spokesperson said to The Mobile Indian, "We will be launching LG Optimus G in India in the first week of November."

LG Optimus G will arrive with a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro mobile processor and will feature a 13 megapixel camera at the back. It will have a 4.7 inch True HD IPS Plus display with a Zerogap Touch technology touchscreen that supports 1280 x 768 pixel resolution natively.
The other features of the Optimus G will include Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, A-GPS, Near Field Communication, USB 2.0 high speed port, MHL and DLNA support. For longer run time, LG has packed a 2100 mAh battery that promises about 15 hours of talktime.
